Marissa and Ken's families knew each other from attending church together during their childhood but it wasn't until 15+ years later that Marissa would cross Ken's path when she happened to stop by his job at the time.

Their first date was at a nearby coffee shop and it was there that Ken, a former college middle linebacker, shared detailed information about playing football. In true Marissa fashion, she immersed herself and listened attentively, probably asking too many questions! While they were both pretty nervous on this date, hours went by and they both didn't want to leave.

Days, months and then a year went by. Marissa and Ken spent a lot of time getting to know each other. Ken discovered Marissa wasn't a fan of loading the dishwasher, so he would help her out with that. Marissa learned Ken wasn't a fan of driving, something she enjoys and preferred to do. She can even drive a 5-speed manual and did so for years. Ken liked watching football and football game highlights, rewatching football games, playing Madden, and so on, while Marissa picked up a bit more football knowledge, because how could she not?! It was during this time that things just started to click and felt so easy.

In August 2019, Ken and Marissa welcomed their first daughter, Karter Denise, and navigated the early years of parenting and COVID.

In September 2022, they welcomed their second daughter Brooke Adriana, and seemed like pros as second-time parents, although they still don't get to sleep through the night!

On December 18, 2023, Marissa and Ken tied the knot in Oklahoma City with their immediate family in attendance. Ken's father, Ken Sr., officiated their wedding. December 18 was the same day Marissa's grandparents and parents married, years prior.
